September is probably my second favorite month of the year (because my birthday is in October, so…duh) beause it’s when we finally start to transition into the best season for fashion: Fall. All of my favorite beauty brands start sharing teasers for their holiday collections, all of the mannequins are dressed head to toe in gorgeous fall ready attire and I can begin dreaming of mashed potatoes and eggnog. This past September has been insane for me. I was able to attend my first ever New York Fashion Week and spent two weeks strolling through the streets of Brooklyn, eating amazing food and spending time with my cousin and more importantly her adorable kitten. I launced a new 4 week coaching program, held an amazing blogger challenge and got to start working on some pretty exciting new projects (stay tuned). All in all, a super busy but super awesome month. And I know October is going to be even better! I definitely did a little damage shopping this month (new season new wardrobe, am I right?) but have some new faves I’m obsessed with. Check out my September Favorites below!

MAKEUP FAVORITES

Jaclyn Hill Palette by Morphe

Okay I know I’m late for the party on this one. But FYI it took me THREE times setting my alarm at 8am to get my hands on this bad boy. It sold out way too fast the first two times. The first time I literally had it in my cart but had to “wait in line” to get it and it was gone before I could have my chance. If their strategy was to make the palette seem super exclusive and desirable…it worked. I will say it was definitely worth the wait! I’ve always loved Morphe’s palettes and this one does not disappoint. The formula is so blendable and creamy. I love how warm the shades are with some gorgeous pops of color. I’ve been using this everday since I got back from New York and I love how many looks I can create with it. I’m all for limited edition, special palettes with amazing formulas and just a few beautiful shades but there’s nothing like being able to buy an affordable palette that is high quailty and has a ton of options. If you can get your hands on this palette then I would highly recommend it, it’s worth every penny and the struggle. Although with all of the hype dying down it should stay in stock for awhile! Grab it here.

Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in “Queen B”

too face melted matte lipsticks too face melted matte lipsticks

The Melted Lipsticks are my freaking jam you guys. Their matte formulas are smooth and stay in place all day, their creamy forumlas are super pigmented, and their latex formulas are crazy glossy. They just simply never disappoint. I picked up this color from their matte line in August but just started really wearing it in September and I have been struggling to wear anything else. If you look at my lipstick collection you’ll see that I’m a huge fan of rosey mauves and anything within that family so this gorgeous color is right up my alley. It also makes my lips look bigger and plumper even when I don’t overline them at all. I’m all about it! Bonus: it’s a comfortable matte so no crumbling or chapped lips. She’ll be listed in the “shop” section at the end of the post.

SKINCARE FAVORITES

Pur-lisse Blue Lotus Brightening Serum

pur-lisse skin care

I’m a skincare junkie so I was really excited to try out Pur-lisse and find some new favorites. The brightening serum has defintely given me noticeably brighter skin over the past two weeks I’ve been using it. Which is perfect timing because the temperatures are definitely dropping around here and my skin tends to get super dry and dull during the cooler months. I also love that there’s almost no odor (not into super strongly scented products) and that the nozzle only allows for a small amount to come out at a time. You really don’t need very much and the bottle will last you way longer. Shop it at the bottom of the post!

Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment

boscia skin care

You know I’m a total mask girl and I was so excited when I was gifted this amazing charcoal treatment a few months ago. Boscia has an amazing line of charcoal products that detoxify and exfoliate your skin so you get a super deep clean and eliminate all of the nasty impurities that can build up on our skin. This mask has both white and black charcoal to absorb those impurities and essentially pull them from your pores. My skin feel so soft and supple after I use this mask. I use it once or twice a week and ever since I started I have been experiencing less break outs. Definitely recommend it if you wear a lot of makeup or have acne prone skin. Shop it below!

HAIR CARE FAVORITES

Ecru New York Dry Texture Spray

texturizing spray texturizing spray

When I was in New York for NYFW I was able to attend an event where Ecru New York was a featured brand and got to feel like a total celeb (so basically the opposite of who I really am) while they tousled my hair with their new Dry Texture Spray and put on a pretty shade from their new lipstick collection. This spray is magic you guys. It’s kind of a hybrid between a dry shampoo and texturizing spray so your hair feels voluminous and refreshed after you use it. I like to flip my hair over and spray it up towards my ends and work it into my roots to really give me that beachy, tousled look. It’s a total life saver now that I have short hair. I can literally style it in two minutes. Grab it here!

FASHION FAVORITES

Denim Jacket w/ Leopard Collar & Grommet Detailing from Zara

denim jacket zara

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I am a jacket girl. What shoes are to Carrie Bradshaw, jackets are to me. They are statement making and in my personal opinion no look is complete without one. I picked up this super cute and fun denim one from Zara before I went to NYFW and I’ve been wearing it almost every day. It’s grungy and cool but it still incorporates a lot of fall’s top trends. The bomber-esqe fit is super flattering over a graphic tee and skinny jeans or even paired with a flirty bodysuit. I love layering a bulky jacket over something super fitted. The furry leopard collar adds the perfect amount of sass and the grommet detailing on the back makes it current but still have a vintage vibe. It’ll be your new favorite too. Get it here.

Who What Wear Honor Brocade Flat Mules

flat mules

Every season when WWW releases their newest line at Target I have to pick up a few pieces. I love that they create this amazing capsule collection that totally sums up the season’s best trends and then slap on a super affordable price point. You just can’t lose with that. These flat mules are not only super comfortable and effortlessly cool but I kid you not, they go with everything. It doesn’t matter the color scheme, the texture, the style, they will work. I’ve worn them with earth toned duster length cardigans (if you’re a shorty like me have no fear! They looked awesome), faded denim and faux leather leggings and a lacey top. They’re super versatile and keep your look interesting yet understated. Shop them at the end of the post!

Topshop White Moto Jacket

top shop white Moto jacket

Yes, another jacket. Whatever. White is totally under utilized during the fall season in my opinion. And I get it, we’re all about the warm browns and reds. But white is unexpected, crisp and totally eye catching. This white moto jacket was originally a gift I got for a friend in August and I loved it so much I went back and picked one up for myself! It is perfect for a night out or even during a cooler day. You just feel clean and fresh and alive in it. I’m telling you, I walk way taller when I have it on. When I haven’t been rocking my new denim jacket I’ve been throwing this on. Unfortunately it’s sold out but I linked some super similar (and super affordable) optons down below!

BOOK FAVORITES

The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks

the big leap

If you’re looking for your new favorite motivational self care book then look no further. I was recommended this book during a time when I was feeling like I was doing all of this annoying self sabotaging and I didn’t know why. Essentially it’s just about how when we take a big leap in our careers, relationships or our lives in general we sometimes can’t handle how exciting or awesome it is so we subconsciously self sabotage. It totally changed my perspective on “going for it” and “living your best life” because it teaches you how to truly enjoy the moment and let go of the negativity you may have had in your life in the past. If you’re going through a big life change or are wanting to, I highly recommend it. Get it here.

RESTAURANT FAVORITES

Social Kitchen & Brewery, The Sunset District, San Francisco

white Moto jacket topshop Mac and cheese sf food brewery San Francisco

I have no idea why I haven’t been sharing my favorite foods/dishes/restaurants of the month because it is literally 90% of what I’m thinking about throughout the day. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. For this first edition I’m featuring an old favorite that will always be in my top 5. Social has so many awesome memories for me because it’s in a neighborhood where two of my best friends use to live and we would go there no exaggeration, 1-2 times a week. They have amazing beers with a menu that is always updating with the season. I would definitely try the Rapscallion if you ever go and if you happen to be in the city in February they typically have one called Jungle Cruise that is equal parts delicious and potent. If you go you MUST have their famous truffle mac and cheese. It’s creamy and gooey (but not too gooey) with english peas for texture and crunchy breadcrumbs sprinkled on top. I’ve never been there and not had it and if I can guarantee anything in this world it’s that I will never pass it up. My friends and I got to go this past weekend which was so fun because they hadn’t been in two years since they moved and we loved reminiscing. We also had a few rounds of their crispy brussel sprouts with parmesan and lime which are essentially just baked air but they’re almost amazing. You can check out their menu here if you’re ever in the bay area. What did you love in September? Tell me in the comments! Xoxo, She
