As a lady with very dry skin who is obsessed with keeping myself fully hydrated at all times, my skincare routine is something I’m passionate about.

While I do like to keep things simple, I also love the feeling of really treating my skin right and taking care of it. This means I’m choosing quality products that work well together and help my skin look and feel it’s best.

Related: My Minimal Beauty Routine

I recently updated my routine and have so many new products to share with you that I’ve been loving! I really do think that our skin gets used to the products we use consistently and that it’s a good best practice to switch things up a couple of times a year.

Keep in mind that I do have dry skin like I mentioned above, with some oily tendencies in my t-zone. If you have super oily skin then these products may not work for you. Everyone is unique but if you have a similar skin type to mine then you may love these products as much as I do!

Here is my updated skincare routine for 2020!

EVENING

skincare routine

Step One: Cleanser

The first step for me is cleansing my skin, which usually happens in the shower. I am obsessed with the Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Cleanser but also use the Tea Tree Cleanser from Trader Joe’s as a backup.

The Origins one just feels so good on your skin and your skin will feel super clean afterward. Get it here!

Step Two: Toner

Then I use the Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner which is only $9 for a big bottle on Amazon. It smells great (I have the rose one) and keeps your skin hydrated and your pores small and clear. I pat it into my skin using a cotton round. Get it here!

Step Three: Eye Cream

I found this gem of an eye cream on Sephora that was only $10 and it’s been so effective! The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream has a gel-like consistency and a little really goes a long way. I have pretty bad bags under my eyes from getting up so early each morning and I’ve noticed that they’re looking a lot better lately. Such a good find! Get it here.

Step Four: Serum

I loooove Tatcha products so I was super excited to try their Serum Stick. It makes my skin feel so smooth and soft. It’s extremely hydrating so it’s been really great for my dry patches around my nose and mouth. Plus the stick makes it so easy to just swipe on. Get it here!

Step Five: Moisturizer

I have several moisturizers I love but lately, I’ve been using the Ponds Moisturizing Cream from the drugstore and it’s amazing. So inexpensive and so hydrating. Even through the colder winter months when my skin is usually red and flakey (ew but it’s the truth) it really held it down. This was the first winter where I didn’t feel like I had to run out and buy 10 different creams and oils to keep my skin hydrated. Highly recommend.

Step Six: Drying Lotion

Finally, I’ll dip a q-tip into the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion to help get rid of any budding blemishes. I have pretty good skin but I am prone to breakouts when it’s that time of the month or if I’ve had more dairy or sugar than usual. This is a miracle product because it will shrink any zits, dry them out and help reduce redness. They’re gone within a day or two! Get it here.

MORNING

skincare routine

My morning routine is much more simple since I’ve already done a lot the night before and also because I just don’t have the time for anything super elaborate in the morning.

Step One: Cleanser

Step Two: Moisturizer

Step Three: SPF

I use the Coola Facial SPF 30 in Cucumber and I love it! A lot of sunscreens actually make me break out so I love that this one is so gentle on the skin while still protecting me. I am a ghost so I wear SPF pretty much every day and I don’t want to have to choose between a sunburn and a zit. This is a product I will rebuy again and again. Get it here!

MY FAVORITE MASKS

I LOVE a good face mask and have several I like to use 2-3 times a week depending on how my skin is doing. I use some for the morning after I’ve had a fun night out that resulted in me NOT taking off my makeup (rare but it happens), some for hydrating, some for breakouts and some to brighten.

Here are my absolute favorites:
