I have dreamed about having my own work space for years and am so happy and excited to be starting 2017 with my own apartment (meaning I rarely am wearing pants) and an office space that keeps me motivated and feeling productive.

While it’s still a work in progress from a decorative stand point, I wanted to share with you how I set it up to be a place where I can work but also stay inspired. I live in a very small in law apartment in San Francisco so I have to stay really organized to maintain my own sanity and ensure I have room for everything I need.

I use my office space to house my accessories and clothes as well because it was originally a second bed room that my roommate lived in. Now I use that closet for my off season favorites and store all of my accessories in cute shelving that serves as both storage and a great decorative touch.

I’m all about that all white with pops of color trend so I picked furniture that would look chic, modern and clean. I’m an Ikea junkie so that’s where I got all of my pieces, except for one small table I got on Amazon.

My desk was super affordable (only $80!) and has some great storage space so I thought it was perfect. I tried to keep it simple with just my planners and notepads I use daily, plus my ever growing pen collection. I got this mug from an Etsy shop that is no longer open (sad) and loved how cute it looked with all of the colorful pens. I picked up these cute jars with office supplies inside from everyone’s favorite way to kill 3 hours: Target. The drawers below hold important papers, my camera, and more pens (if you can believe it). Plus there may or may not be a bag of hot cheetos and a 5 Hour Energy in there. You will never know!

My chair is also from Ikea and it is comfy af! Great back support for a grandma like me. I used this cute gold and white pillow to make it super cozy. This fluffy white rug is from Ikea.

My shelving is 3 separate units that I pushed together to make one awesome storage unit. I loved the idea of keeping my favorite shoes and handbags on display so I used this to house them. I also have books, jewelry, favorite lipsticks and my Instax Mini 8 living there. I found this to be the perfect combination of my appreciation of style and functionality.

I found this adorable side table on Amazon when I originally needed a place to put my fish tank (RIP Angel) but after I didn’t need it for that anymore I decided to use it for my sunglasses and a few other odds and ends. I also keep my mail there and this cute piggy bank my Aunt got me from Nicaragua when I was a little girl. Kind of an eclectic mix of items but I think it works.

This mannequin is one I took home when my store got a remodel and we were throwing them out. This is by far my favorite part of this room because it emphasizes my love of fashion and looks so chic. Plus the boobs are squishy, so that’s a great bonus.

I wanted to have decor that was soft and feminie so I love this adorable calendar my boss got me for my birthday. It’s so cute and again a great way to show off my passion. This mirror is an oldie my mom gave to me that I think is so glamorous. I want to create a full on gallery wall so I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

My closet holds all of my outerwear, dresses and skirts that I’m not currently reaching for due to the season. They’ll get swapped in when the weather warms up.

I plan on adding more art and small decorative touches over time but for now I am so happy with how it turned out. It just feels good to be able to separate your work space from your living space. Having an area that fills you with constant inspiration makes for great productivity.
