The most romantic (or hated, depending on how recently you just broke up with your significant other) day of the year is only a few weeks away and I personally couldn’t be more excited! Whether I have a boyfriend at the time or not, I always love Valentine’s Day. It’s a great excuse to do something fun with your bffles, like taking a spontaneous trip to New Orleans (which is how I will be spending my Valentine’s Day weekend) or spending the day taste testing all of the best ice cream shops in the city. I love a good Galentine’s Day date just as much as I love having a romantic dinner with a cute boy. One of my favorite parts of this time of year is all of the gorgeous new collections my favorite clothing lines come out with! So whether you’re planning for a fun lady date with your bestie or a special night with your boo, here are three little red dress ideas that will leave them speechless!

1. Something Sweet

I could definitely see myself wearing this to a cute picnic date, dinner at my favorite restaurant (or his I guess), or to go see a show. The lace is gorgeous and so feminine and romantic. The gold zipper in the back definitely adds a little fun edge, but overall this dress screams Allie from the Notebook. I just picked it up in store at Francesca’s but it’s available on line as well (get it here). I accessorized with simple chunky white jewelry and this adorable pale pink polka dot clutch (get it here) from Kate Spade. The shoes are oldies from Shoe Dazzle but any black pump would look great! Or even cute red flats if you’re not a heels girl (I definitely would be wearing flats in real life). Confession: I thought this dress was meant to be worn with the zipper in the front and when I tried it on that way it actually also looked really cute, so try it both ways and see which one works for you!

2. Something Sophisticated

If you’re looking for something with a touch of sophistication this dress is perfect for an intimate dinner for two at a fancy restaurant. It hugs the curves in all the right places and has some really sexy draping in the front that make it extremely flattering for all body types. The zipper is fun and unexpected (I love a good zipper) and really pulls the whole look together. I purchased it in store from Express last summer so it’s no longer available but there are several similar options (herehere, and here!) that will give you the same fitted, sexy, sophisticated feel. I paired it with the same black heels as before, and one of my favorite black cross body clutches (get something very close here) also from Kate Spade. A few black and gold jewelry pieces completes this look and leaves you ready to break hearts. One of my really close friends actually wore this dress to her rehearsal dinner after we both bought the exact same one, and her best friend wore it to her rehearsal dinner too, so basically whenever I wear it I think of rehearsal dinners which could make date night a little awkward!

3. Something Sassy

This just might be the one I have to go with for my Galentine’s Day date with two of my bffles. This romper (super sexy and super comfy!) is so fun and fearless! Perfect for a night out dancing, because this outfit actually makes me feel like that fun red dress clad emoji! I got it on sale from Nasty Gal a few weeks ago (get it here) and am dying to wear it out. Anything with fringe immediately catches my eye, what can I say? I love an outfit that moves. My suede heels with the edgy black stitching details are also oldies from Shoe Dazzle but I found a pair that are pretty similar (here!) that would also look amazing. Kept the whole look red with my very well loved red cross body that I got eons ago from Forever 21 (they have a ton available that are super similar, like this one). Simple gold jewelry was definitely the way to go since this romper already steals the show. You could add a cool studded skinny belt if you wanted to but this look stands on its own just fine without it.
