March is already here and I really can’t believe how quickly this year is going by already. I mean, I’m pretty sure everyone says that every year but still. Time is flying by!

I tried out a ton of new products last month that I fell in love with. I also did a lot of online shopping so I have a feeling there will be even more favorites in next month’s edition.

Nude Dude Palette-The Balm

February Favorites February Favorites February Favorites February Favorites

I purchased this palette when it originally came out and was admittedly a little disappointed. I am a huge fan of the first Nude Dude palette and was really looking forward to trying out the new version. I just felt like the shadows were not as blendable or pigmented as the original and in the back of my drawer it went.

I try to make it a point to rotate through all of my palettes since I have so many and I don’t want to forget about any of them. I was going through my drawer when I saw the Nude Dude palette and thought I’d give it another chance. I’m so glad that I did because I’ve been using it every day since. I’ve been putting Feisty in my crease, Faithful all over my lid and Funny in my outer corner. It makes for a beautiful, warm look that’s super neutral and effortless. I don’t know why I didn’t like the formula previously because I haven’t had any trouble blending the second time around. I could have been using a different primer that wasn’t agreeing with these shadows. Another good reason to give all of your products a second chance!

All In One Mascara-ArtDeco

February Favorites February Favorites

I featured the German beauty brand in my previous post so I won’t go overboard with my review but I wasn’t joking about the All In One Mascara being one of my new faves. It separates and elongates my lashes so beautifully. I haven’t used another mascara since receiving it.

Charcoal Deep-Pore Exfoliating Peel Gel-Boscia

February Favorites February Favorites

I love everything I try from Boscia so I’m not too surprised that I loved this gel so much. I was in Sephora searching for a new cleanser to help exfoliate and get rid of the dirt and grime that gets stuck in my pores. When I saw this gel I was instantly intrigued by the idea of a “peel gel” that would exfoliate my skin. I’ve been using it almost every day after I cleanse my skin and I’ve had some amazing results. I was experiencing some really annoying breakouts but started to see an immediate improvement after I began using the gel. It really deep cleans and removes all of the dead skin. My skin feels so smooth and fresh after using it.

Checks & Balances Frothy Face wash-Origins

February Favorites February Favorites

The first time I tried this was a few years ago when I was staying at a friend’s house and she had it in her shower. Hey, we all do it. I immediately fell in love with the formula and have purchased it on and off over the years. I recently added it back into my routine when I ran out of my Fresh cleanser and am so happy to have it back in my life. It really is frothy and so satisfying when applied to the skin. I use it with my Clarisonic in the shower every night and my skin feels so refreshed afterwards. It has a faint minty scent which is pleasant and subtle.

When cleansers are described as “gentle” a lot of time they’re almost too gentle. This one has mastered the balance between being gentle on the skin and also giving it a deep clean. Hands down my favorite facial cleanser of all time.

Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask-Fresh

/var/folders/1q/0kctyj8s5kgfvkb50nht784h0000gn/T/com.apple.iChat/Messages/Transfers/IMG_5326.JPG

Over the holidays I took advantage of many great giftset deals and one of them was a set of 6 Fresh Masks. I love all of their products but it can be difficult to justify the price sometimes. I was so excited to my hands on a giftset that included so many of the amazing masks I had wanted to try. My favorite one was the Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask.

I use this as a last step in my evening skin care routine a few times a week and the results are shocking. After using it the first time I woke up with my skin glowing and feeling so firm and smooth. I’ve become obsessed and my skin has never felt healthier. It’s a thick cream that you apply to your face and neck before bed that deeply moisturizes the skin.

If you’re skeptical about the price (I don’t blame you) ask for a sample in Sephora and give it a try. It might just seem worth it to you after you wake up feeling like you have a new face.

Dry Shampoo Foam-Ouai

February Favorites February Favorites

February Favorites

I saw Jaclyn Hill talking about this during a haul video and I went out to purchase it the next day (typical). But seriously, the concept of a dry shampoo foam? I had to try it.

I am a huge fan of DryBar Dry Shampoo because it makes my hair look so clean and oil free. As someone who only washes her hair every 4-5 days (sometimes longer, don’t judge me) I use it all the time. While I love the clean look it leaves I am not a fan of the powdery residue that’s left afterwards. Even though I’m blond the white cast still shows up and leaves me brushing it out repeatedly until it’s gone. This isn’t just a DryBar thing either, it’s every dry shampoo.

So when I heard that this one from Ouai doesn’t leave a white cast or a residue at all I ran to Sephora to pick it up.

Here’s the deal; you have to use a lot. I tried using a small amount the way I do with other dry shampoos and it did not cut it. I thought it wasn’t an effective product until I really got in there and started using more and applying it to my whole head. After that I was sold.

There is so icky dry feeling, no residue and no white cast. Your hair really does feel clean and refreshed. I love the clean smell it gives and I love how lightweight it leaves my hair feeling. I will definitely be repurchasing this.

Gold Oxfords-Just Fab

February Favorites February Favorites

Alright so if you’re reading this and you know my personally, you probably already know that I suffer from Sciatica and Arthritis. I’m essentially a total grandma and sometimes I have a limp. It’s super sexy.

In reality it makes it really hard for me to wear cute shoes because they usually just don’t feel good when I’m walking around all day. You’ll usually find me in sneakers really rocking that athleisure look or toughing it out in something a little cuter but that puts me in a lot of pain.

I was so pleasantly surprised when I received these cute gold oxfords in the mail and they were actually comfortable. I ordered them in hopes that I would start feeling better soon but I can actually wear them now and not hobble around in pain all day. Plus they’re super cute and super on trend with their metallic finish. I love incorporating something trendy into my accessories so I can dress up a casual outfit.

Leopard Moto Jacket-Express

February Favorites

Leopard print is my jam. I think it’s such a chic way to add a dash of sophistication to any look. I also am a huge fan of Moto jackets so when I saw this one of Express I knew I had to have it.

I always prefer gold over silver so the detailing is totally my style. I love that this jacket can be used as a neutral outerwear piece and essentially go with everything. It still adds some personality and sass to my look while maintaining that cool factor that moto jackets have.

It’s currently on sale so act fast!

High-Waisted Contrast Panel Ankle Jean Legging-Express

February Favorites February Favorites

Clearly I’m a fan of Express. It’s my favorite place to by jeans because the fit and the quality are so consistent. I always know that they’ll look good, even when I order online. I saw these super on trend panel jeggings and immediately added them to my cart. I’ve been wanting to experiment with two toned jeans and I thought this pair looked really flattering. The dark wash panel down the sides really elongate the legs which is always a nice feature for a pigmy like myself.

They’re my favorite jeans to reach for on a day off. I love pairing the with a white t-shirt and leopard flats. I’ll be featuring them in blog soon!

BOOK FAVORITES

Style Your Mind by Cara Alwill Leyba

February Favorites

If you’ve read Girl Code or any of Cara Leyba’s other books then you’ll absolutely love her latest project. Style Your Mind is a workbook she created to help women “empower themselves and build a beautiful life”. I’ve only read through the first few sections but I’ve loved the questions she’s asked and activities she’s created. It allows you enter a space where you can be honest with yourself about who you want to be and where you want to go. They’re the kind of questions that you may not know to ask or may not be brave enough to face. She makes it easy and comfortable for you to do some self exploration.

I love going through the workbook on a Sunday morning with some coffee. It’s a great way to really take care of myself and focus on what I want out of life. Highly recommend!
