Note: I wrote this post last week and will be posting them every Monday!

Every Sunday I try to plan out of my outfits for the week and steam/hang them all ahead of time. I love it when I do this because it makes getting ready in the morning so much easier. When I don’t do this I often find myself rushing and ending up in outfits I don’t love. No one wants to walk around all day feeling “meh” so it’s nice to add that little extra pep in your step by ensuring your look is one you feel great in.

While I love clothes and obviously have a ton of content that is very curated I also re-wear things constantly and am not buying new things every week. I think it’s a lot more helpful for me to share how I actually style the things I already own on a daily basis vs. encouraging you to constantly be buying in order to maintain a sense of style. That isn’t realistic for anyone so let’s not pretend I live an overly glamorous life with new clothes everyday.

This week has flown by and I am very excited for my weekend plans (some of them involve a boy) and to be able to unwind after a busy week.

Because all of these items are things I’ve had for a long time (some of them for years!) I’ll be linking mostly similar items at the bottom of the post. Enjoy!

TUESDAY

women's style ideas

I’m already off to a bad start here because I forgot to take a picture Monday, womp womp. I’ll do better next time!

Tuesday I wore my favorite polka dot Tommy Hilfiger button down tucked into high waisted skinny jeans from Express. I threw on some black booties and a black faux leather moto jacket to complete the look. It felt very cool business casual and I was into it.

My dirty dirty hair was thrown into a high point which meant I reached for some fun geometric dangly earrings before I walked out the door.

That night I made tostadas (post coming soon!) and the top button of those pants came undone within minutes 🙂

WEDNESDAY

One of my best purchases of 2019 has hands down been this great blazer. It’s got a cool neutral print that isn’t too busy so I can throw it over almost anything. This day I went with a black and white striped long sleeve and my comfiest distressed girlfriend jeans. I wanted to highlight the light brown in the blazer so I threw on my well-loved leopard booties.

It was perfect for the chilly temps that day and comfy enough for me to waaaaay overstay my welcome at the Peets I posted up in for a few hours.

Wednesday night was one of those glorious “I have nothing to do” type of evening so I promptly changed into my pjs when I got home, made leftover tostadas and lounged on my couch like the grandma I am.

THURSDAY

This was definitely my favorite look of the week. I love a statement pant, what can I say? The tricky thing is that because I’m short and a little curvy it can be hard to find flattering options. Enter these wide-leg striped trousers from Zara that I need to wear way more often. They’re comfortable and the vertical lines paired with the tie waist kept me from looking like a stump.

I tucked in one of my favorite t-shirts (“men should not be making laws about women’s bodies”) and threw on my tweed jacket over it with my black booties to finish the look. It was super comfy but still felt elevated and unique. If you’re scared to try a busier pant just remember you can always balance it out with a solid t-shirt to keep yourself from looking too over the top.

Thursday night I got carne asada fries with my cousin (I literally got them a week ago so this has been a good month for me) while we caught up on life and gossiped for four hours. The perfect girl’s night!

FRIDAY

fall fashion 4

Today’s look is definitely the most extra of the week and I’m not mad at it. After a fairly neutral color palette all week I was in the mood for some color.

I threw on my cozy rainbow striped sweater with my flowy printed midi skirt. I tied the look together with simple black booties (hello again) and a black moto jacket so I wasn’t too eccentric. Although I do still think this outfit has major Ms. Frizzle vibes. I love mixing patterns and felt like the contrast of the large stripes and the more delicate heart shapes worked well. At least my dentist thought so!

After the dentist, I came back here with a numb face, poured a second cup of coffee and have been sitting on my couch writing this ever since! I’ll be heading to Marin in a few hours to visit my parents which I always look forward to.

What are your weekend plans? Tell me in the comments below!
