“Self help” books get a bad rap for being cheesy and weird but honestly, they’re my jam.

I love finding new ways to be more productive, to feel better about myself and to improve my business so I’m always excited to find a new self-improvement read!

And I know this is the time of year when everyone is looking for a little extra motivation while we try to stay on track with our new resolutions. So I wanted to round up my favorite inspirational reads and share them with you!

You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero

This book is exactly the kick in the pants you need to feel like you can do whatever it is you’ve been wanting to. It definitely leans into the whole “law of attraction” connection with the Universe business but it also just teaches you to be more positive and focused when it comes to living a life you’re excited about.

The Motivation Myth by Jeff Haden

I listened to this one the most recently and I loved it because it’s all about not relying on feeling motivated to get shit done. He talks about how you can focus on the process of reaching your goals to get there faster. There’s a ton of great productivity hacks in there too.

How to Stop Feeling Like Shit by Andrea Owen

This is a great read for women becasue it’s all about how we speak to ourselves and how we can shift our mindset when it comes to how we feel about who we are.

It was such a great reminder that we don’t have to feel so bad about so many things (especially the things that are out of our control) and I loved implementing these practices into my day to day life.

Get Your Sh*t Together by Sarah Knight

I loved this book because I love cursing and productivity hacks, two things that are heavily included in this read.

Sarah Knight gives you great, actionable steps to create a more organized life and to get more done without losing your mind. It’s a quick, useful, fun read that you’ll thoroughly enjoy!]

Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba

This was one of my favorite books a few years ago because it was exactly what I needed to start feeling inspired to find a way to quit my day job and pursue a career in writing.

Cara shares tons of stories from other female entrepreneurs that will not only give you great advice but will also make you feel like you can really get your dreams off the ground.
