Honestly, I have never really cared about Valentine’s Day. I think I’ve spent maybe one with a boyfriend. What I do care about (and get very excited for) is the best day of the year: Galentine’s Day!

I love Leslie Knope for inventing the Galentine’s Day brunch because it is truly the best event of the year (at least I hope mine will be!). You get to hang out with all of your favorite ladies and eat delicious things and drink mimosas and not worry about some dumb guy coming along and ruining everything like they are known to do. It’s the best!

I believe the actual holiday date is February 13th (according to parks and rec) but I will be hosting my first Gal’s Day brunch on Sunday the 16th and I can’t effing wait! I’m so excited!

I had so much fun hosting a holiday party here in my new place last year and I can’t wait to have all of my friends with me this time as we celebrate our friendship. I truly can’t think of anything cuter.

I wanted to share how I’m planning my brunch without spending all of my money (something I could easily do because there is A LOT of cute Galentines inspo on Pinterest) while still creating a beautiful spread for my ladies.

Here is what I’m buying, what I’m making and what we’ll be doing:

THE PARTY SUPPLIES

You guys this is a struggle for me because there is SO MUCH stuff out there you can buy to make your Galentine’s Day party fabulous and it’s all so freaking cute. It’s been hard to narrow it down but I’ve finally figured out my final list and will be ordering everything this weekend.

I was very tempted to get some cute stuff from Paper Source but it is super overpriced so I am really trying to hold myself back. However, Amazon has a ton of great stuff that’s all inexpensive and will be at my door in a day or two (thank you prime!).

I’m getting some cute rose gold-rimmed glasses, some mimosa carafes, cute plates and of course some pretty decorations to make my home feel festive af.

You can definitely keep it simple, a little goes a long way. I’m buying pink and red streamers ($2 each!) to hang around my house, heart confetti to put on the tables (messy but cheap) and a cute felt garland to hang over my bar cart.

Here is what I’m getting as well as some other options I saw that I loved:

THE FOOD

I’m making my brunch a potluck so everyone is going to bring something to contribute. For my part, I’ll be making a delish quiche, setting up a waffle bar and putting out a little sweets board because after seeing all of the cute ones on Pinterest I could not resist!

I told everyone to let me know what they wanted to bring in the Facebook invite but will also be following up with everyone soon to see what they’re all bringing and to make sure we don’t have everyone show up with hash browns (although that sounds kind of great). I suggested things like donuts, pastries, fresh fruit, breakfast potatoes, bacon, salad, etc.

Hosting is a lot of work so don’t feel weird about asking your friends to help!

THE DRINKS

I’m also providing a mimosa bar because I truly can’t think of anything cuter. I found a really cute mimosa bar kit on Amazon (listed in the party supplies section above!) I’ll be using to make it look adorable.

I’m going to hit up Bevmo and see if I can get a good deal on a case of champagne because let’s be real; we’ll probably need at least a bottle each. I don’t know how your friends are, but for mine, this is a necessity.

I’m going to pick up some orange juice, and two other yummy mixers to put in the glass carafes I mentioned so everyone can mix and match as they please. Plus I’ll set out some raspberries to make them extra instagrammable!

THE FUN

It wouldn’t be a true Galentine’s Day Brunch without actual Galentines of course! I’m making each guest their own little Galentine card (I couldn’t resist these cute ones from Papersource!) but will also set up a little station for them to make their own! I’m not doing anything too fancy, just buying a cute pack of heart stationery that I’ll put out with fun pens and these stickers.

I’m also ordering the game “Buzzed”, a drinking card game that I played with some girlfriends in Seattle. It’s super fun and a great way to let everyone get to know each other. I don’t think I’m going to have a super big group so I figured if we want we could play!

I also am curating the perfect playlist with tons of female powerhouses (hello Beyonce) that I will add here once it is complete!

I hope you found this guide helpful and that it inspires you to host your own Galentine’s Brunch for the special ladies in your life.

Xo,

She
