Is it really August 29? Is it really about to be September in a few days? Yes girl, and I can’t believe how quickly the summer blew by either.
I had to try and squeeze in a few last minute summer trends to get my fix before the excuse for messy beachy waves and aztec prints was no longer valid.
I wore this while hanging out with my friend on a sunny (and rare) San Francisco afternoon. I was walking around the Mission and Castro districts taking pictures and filming for the blog and realized that I had the quintessential summer outfit on and I had to share. Que me teaching my friend how to use my camera and saying a lot of things like “did I have a double chin in that one?”.
I wore this aztec maxi skirt with the fun slit that was super comfy and perfect for a day of walking around the city. It’s fitted around the waist which makes it really flattering on anyone. Get some of my favorite picks here, here and here!
The skirt is definitely the star of the show, so I didn’t want to get too crazy on top. I kept it simple with a loose white t-shirt that I tied in a knot to make more interesting and my favorite denim jacket to keep the look cool and casual. Get it here.
Normally I would have liked to add a little height to keep the length of the maxi skirt from making me look even shorter, but since I was doing a little walking that day I paired my look with some black sandals that kept me comfy and laid back. I think strappy black heeled sandals or some brown wedges would have also looked great with this look! My sandals are super old, but here are some really similar options on sale!
Finally, I accessorized with my black wide brimmed hat, the perfect summer time finishing touch, and my newest baby; the Uptown Mini Blocked Satchel from Henri Bendel. I fell in love with this when I was in New York at the beginning of the month and I didn’t really need had to have it! I love adding structure to an outfit and this was a great bag to use for that effect. Get it here!
Well, goodbye summer! I’ll miss you but as always, I will see you next year.

Thank you! I have a hand bag obsession but I usually accessorize with the same simple gold jewelry for the most post! It’s an easy way to make myself seem pulled together haha.
