Alright, I am now no longer the only one here who is wondering why it is SO cold in the Bay Area. Colder than any winter here in the past six years. And this girl does not have any heat so, you know. Living that bundled life.

The thing about living in San Francisco is that the weather is usually fairly mild. Not too cold or ever too hot. However, the weather will change sporadically throughout the day so layers are a must. I always have a good chuckle when I see people walking around in shorts (they’re definitely new) and a tank top because I know that the sky will most likely turn to overcast a few hours later.

In the spirit of being prepared and stylish I wanted to share with you my favorite way to layer: the cardigan vest. Not sure if that is actually a thing but I would like to make it a thing. Or I guess Express has already made it a thing but now I’m actually calling it a thing. You get it.

I enjoyed a chilly winter morning taking pictures in Golden Gate Park and stopped at the boating house by Stow Lake. They have a small cafe inside that is a primo spot for pictures (super Instagram worthy) and stayed warm with a latte. Sounds really precious but there was also a construction worker with his pants falling way too low at the next table so don’t be fooled.

I threw on some comfy high waisted dark wash denim and a sheer white blouse that had just enough texture to keep it interesting. I wore my super comfy low heeled booties and this soft and cozy cardigan vest situation that is the perfect layer to add on that will keep you warm but won’t overheat you. This Metallic Geo Chain Crossbody is everything and I’m loving it as my new neutral accessory.

What is your favorite way to layer? Tell me in the comments!

Xoxo,

She
