Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful (and hopefully not super stressful) holiday weekend!

I did a poll on my Instagram last week (@shesmilesallday) asking about whether or not everyone was feeling my weekly style diaries and the verdict was that they would be better for IG stories! So if you’re not following me (heh heh, very slick I know) then you should! I’ll be posting outfit roundups every week 🙂

I decided to give a weekly favorites post a try! I like keeping you updated on what I’m using/loving at the moment since most of my content is written pretty far in advance. So every Monday (unless you hate it) I’ll be recapping what products/restaurants/books, etc. were my favorites from the week prior.

This last week was a Thanksgiving whirlwind of mashed potatoes and awkward family interactions! Here’s what I loved the most:

Ghosted by Rosie Walsh

ghosted book review

After finishing Harry Potter for the first time this year I immediately went into withdrawals and have been in desperate need of a good book ever since.

This book is nothing like HP, but if you’re into romantic thrillers (I would say this is a “light” thriller) with a twinge of mystery and several shocking twists then you’ll love this book!

It’s about a woman who falls in love with this guy she meets while visiting home and what happens after he completely disappears from her life. It’s excellent and you will definitely be staying up way past your bedtime to finish it!

This Cozy Yellow Cardigan

winter outfit

Honestly is there anything better than wearing a blanket?

I knew when I saw this on Nasty Gal that it would quickly become one of my most worn items of the season and so far I’ve been correct. It’s super cozy and I love the longer length for this time of year. San Francisco fashion is all about your layer game so this has been the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe.

I also love the color yellow and think it’s a fun pop of color to add to any neutral look (like this rainy day outfit featured above!).

These Affordable Holiday Decor Items

holiday outfit look

I was so excited to decorate for Christmas for the first time this year! My old apartment was 1. so tiny and 2. an inlaw unit, meaning it was an apartment attached to a larger house so I couldn’t really decorate the outside of the building.

But this year, oooooh booooy, this year I’m going for it!

I knew I wanted to get festive af, especially since I’m hosting a holiday party this upcoming Saturday, but I also didn’t want to spend all of my money. So I was thrilled to find some affordable holiday decor that would look cute but also not break the bank.

I’ll be sharing more photos of my house soon but you can shop my decorations below by clicking the images!

This Pumpkin Cake Recipe I Brought to Thanksgiving

You guys I’m officially a star baker. I didn’t see this for myself but my talent cannot be denied.

Juuuust kidding, but I did make a delish pumpkin cake for Thanksgiving! I did a practice run a week or two before using a www.broccyourbody.com recipe and it was so good. Super moist (ew sorry) and flavorful but also actually a pretty healthy alternative to most cakes. I decided it was more than worthy of a place at the dessert table.
