I get it, makeup can be overwhelming if it’s not your thing. I’ve been obsessed with makeup for several years (ask my friends, I’m their go-to beauty expert #bragging) and remember how long it took me to actually get the hang of even the most simple techniques in the beginning. summer glow makeup While I still love to whip up a sultry smokey eye from time to time, these days I’m much more about the easy, fresh-faced look that I can achieve in a matter of minutes. Your girl has things to do and I just don’t have an hour to dedicate to my makeup like I used to. This means I’ve had to master the under 10 minutes look and if you’re a busy bee like myself, I think you’ll love the tutorial I just posted on IGTV. I did a glowy summer makeup look that’s 1. quick and 2. beginner friendly. Check it out here! It is ironically, rainy and gloomy af here in San Francisco, but I know that for those of you outside of this bizarre bubble I live in, a summer-appropriate look is what you’re going for. You can get that glowy, just rolled out of bed looking this gorgeous (lololol in my dreams) look without being late to work! Here is how I created my summer ready everyday makeup (all products linked at the bottom of the post) but if you want to see all of these tips in action then click here to check out my IGTV tutorial or follow me on Instagram! I’m @shesmilesblog 🙂

Face

I started by going in with the Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer after moisturizing and applying sunscreen. Even with the doom and gloom outside that sun is sneaky af and I know that I’ll burn to a crisp if I don’t protect my skin! summer glow makeup Then I went in with my favorite foundation at the moment, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation, in the shade porcelain (living that ghost life). I love stick foundations because they’re SO easy to us, especially if you’re new to foundation. This has a medium coverage and blends easily. I’ll also link foundations that are formulated to have a dewy/glowy finish in case you’re really trying to go for it here. After foundation comes under eye concealer (those dark circles are reaaaaal) and a concealer for any blemishes or redness I want to hide. I use oval brushes for all of these products because they blend them in so well and are quick! Perfect for the busy lady on the go. I set all of these liquid products with a translucent powder (I’m using one from Maybelline, so super inexpensive!) and then start adding some warmth and color back into what is now a Casper look alike’s face. summer glow makeup I start with my holy grail bronzer (it’s basically impossible to get me to use anything else), the Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer in Park Ave Princess. I lightly dust it across the top of my cheekbones (less is more) and then on the sides of my forehead and a dab on my chin. Then I went in with the Milani Baked Blush in Rose D’oro on the apples of my cheeks. I love these blushes because they’re budget-friendly and they also have almost a highlighting effect without any chunky glitter (no thanks). Finally, I used my Becca highlighter in Opal to highlight the tops of my cheeks and my cupid’s bow. Take a stippling brush and blend like your life depends on it!

Eyes

The eyes are sooooo easy and quick! All I did was apply a primer (love the Too Faced Shadow Insurance) and then swiped the Make Up For Ever Agua XL Color Paint Shadow in I-50 over my lid with my pinky. It’s this pretty iridescent champagne color that dries really nicely. It won’t move into your crease and get weird, so I’m a fan. This adds a touch of shimmer to your lids without having to even touch a makeup brush. Woo!

Then I just applied my mascara and filled in my brows as usual. Finish off the eyes with a little bit of the same highlighter you used for your face, only this time place it in the inner corners of your eyes and on your brow bone.

Lips

To complete this look all you have to do is reach for your favorite shiny lip gloss. Yes, my friends, we are taking it back to the 90’s!

I love love love this Anastasia Beverly Hills gloss in St. Tropez. It’s a gorgeous sparkly rose gold that has a slightly metallic finish and catches the light when you walk. It compliments my blush and eyeshadow too so I’m pulling off some monochromatic vibes. After that, you’re done! Told you it was easy af. What’s your go-to quick & easy makeup routine?
